Design Process

The Design Process is made up of:

  • Consultation and Brief

  • Site analysis and Survey

  • Design concept

  • Planting plans

  • Project monitoring

Consultation and brief
The initial site visit is first and foremost for us to meet you, the client, and also to give us the opportunity to view the area concerned, and to discuss what you would like to achieve with your garden. We can then talk through your ideas, budget, plant preferences etc, to create a brief that accurately reflects your requirements.

Site analysis and survey
This is either a full professional survey, or an in-house survey, which includes taking measurements and establishing levels across the site, together with a photographic survey, to allow us to produce a plan for your garden. We will check soil conditions, site orientation, any prevailing winds and evaluate your existing planting.

Concept & final design plan
The final design plan is a scaled colour drawing, supported by images and/or sketches to illustrate the design concept. We will then invite you to the Pantiles design office for a presentation and a cup of tea, to talk through the concept and ideas.

Planting plan and plant schedule
The detailed planting plan and schedule lists all the trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants and bulbs as detailed in the final drawing, and includes sizes and quantities.
